PETINA NEW COMPOUND TABLET

This product is an orange sugar-coated tablet containing active ingredients cyproheptadine with vitamin B complex to enhance the appetite of children and elderly. It is effective in maintaining healthy body and promoting weight gain.

Pharmacology:

1) Cyproheptadine has been shown to stimulate appetite in children and adults.

2)     Vitamin B-1 is required for carbohydrate metabolism.

3)     Vitamin B-2 acts as coenzymes in oxidative/ reductive metabolic reactions such as fatty acid breakdown.

4)     Vitamin B-6 is involved in amino acid metabolism and carbohydrate and fat metabolism and also the formation of haemoglobin.

5)     Vitamin B-12 can be used in prophylaxis and treatment of B-12 deficiency related pernicious anaemia.

6)     Nicotinamide is used to treat nicotinamide deficiency symptoms such as pellagra, loss of appetite and lethargy.

Indication: Loss of appetite, and under-weight especially in the elderly people & children, and conditions associated with vitamin B deficiencies.

Dosage:   Children 6-14 yrs: one tablet 3 times daily. Treatment period to promote weight gain should not exceed 3 months.

Adults: two tablets 3 times daily. Treatment period to promote weight gain should not exceed 6 months.

Packing: Bottle of 50's with carton.
