What causes Acne?
Acne is caused by the over-secretion of sebum from sebaceous glands which form the breeding ground for bacteria manifestation. This bacteria is referred to as Propionibacterium acne (P. acnes) and is a normal inhabitant of the skin. It uses sebum as a source of nutrient for growth and produces an enzyme that stimulate formation of acne and skin inflammation.
There are two kinds of Acnes - Non-inflammatory Acnes (such as whitehead, blackhead comedones) and Inflammatory Acnes (such as pustules). Inflammatory Acnes are characterized by red and painful pustules and these acnes can lead to formation of acne scars, red/black spots, pits/depressed scars and keloids on the skin.
What causes Acne Scar formation?
Acne scars are a result of the skin's natural healing and remodeling process. This is particularly true in the case of recurring inflammation at the same site, resulting in permanent scars, red spots, black spots, pits/depressed scars and keloids. Squeezing of acnes is another cause of bacterial infection and recurring inflammation at the same site. There are several types of acne scars, the common ones included Hyper-Pigmented scars (brownish black spots), Hypertropic scars (keloids) and Hypotropic scars (pits/depressed scars).
Appropriate acne scar care products are therefore necessary for the treatment of acne scars as well as the prevention of new acne formation, particularly at the same area where the existing acne scars are healing. Hiruscar Post Acne contains Aqua, Allium Cepa, Niacinamide, Sorbeth-30, PPG-26-Buteth-26 and PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, Quatemium-73, Carbomer, Fragrance, lodopropynyl butylcarbamate and DMDM hydantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Allantoin and Mucopolysaccharide (MPS).
